Farm to Table WV Catering for Wedding
If you want the best food and presentation ever for your wedding and you plan on getting married in West Virginia.... you absolutely must stop everything you are doing right this moment and check out Fish Hawk Acres. Funniest, nicest, easiest, COOLEST people you will ever meet. Honestly the "buffet" looked like a piece of art. We didn't want a buffet at first but when my mom found them and they explained how they present their food we were sold and I could not have been happier with the way it all turned out. Sadly I was hidden away while all the bread and olive oil nonsense was happening.... someone saved me a piece thankfully ;)

Wedding Documentary
I want to thank Stonestreet Creative for making my dream come true. I contacted Stephen last August about documenting our wedding video. I knew the moment I found his website after hours and hours of searching that he would be able to put together what my mind envisioned. He knocked it out of the park. I trusted him and could tell he really understood me after only talking on the phone once before the wedding. West Virginia has limited resources for the type of creativity that I was looking for and I struck gold when finding him. I also want to thank Allie and Alex Merrill for traveling to help with a second camera for the wedding. Allie was with me in the car pulling up to the ceremony and thank goodness for that because I was freaking out with nerves and she was super calm haha. I wanted a video that I could watch and all the feelings would come rushing back to me of that exciting life changing day for Marc and I .... it's exactly what we got and I don't think I'll ever tire of watching it. I think our favorite part is Rad bending over to stretch at the very end of the ceremony... we laugh hard evertyime haha... he was such a good little brother that day.

The Dress
My wedding dress was the first thing we picked out.... the week after I was engaged. I am not indecisive and happened to be in Charleston, SC and stopped in at Maddison Row. I knew different features that I was looking for in a dress: Lace, illusion neckline, fitted. The first dress I tried on had all of the requirements. Anna Maier is the designer of the dress.... which didn't mean much to me besides that she is a dress genius. I only tried on one other dress just for fun that day but knew I found the one. Only a few buttons kept coming undone but that just meant I was getting hugged- ALOT. I love this dress so so so so so much and it could not have been more perfect. Now I just have to warn Marc to not be alarmed if he ever comes home to me lounging around watching Netflix in this thing... it's too beautiful to only wear once ;)

Crossroads- crossing the road to fitness or starbucks donuts?
I started Kayla Itsines 12 week workout program this week. My whole body is sore. I know it hurts from the workouts and partly from using the paint roller and scrapping SHIT off our wood floors from who knows how many years ago. I have been at a crossroads with exercise since coming home from our honeymoon. Before the wedding I went to Pure Barre almost everyday for months. There was a 20 classes in 30 days challenge in March and I did 20 classes in 21 days. I had so much drive and was so committed. When I came home I felt out of sync. I thought I would start back Monday or maybe Thursday. So far I haven't been back. We have been spending any extra $$ on house related projects and since I have a Golds Gym membership that I have used twice (and no way to get out of) I thought I would try and use that for right now. So far her workouts are pretty tough. I don't love a gym setting but there is a WOMEN only room at golds and at 5:30 AM my happy ass has been there and it hasn't been too too bad. I figured it was time to get back on the horse and stop going to Starbucks every morning before work. I finally used my own coffee pot and started eating a normal breakfast (but the old fashioned donut is o so good). I miss Pure Barre bad but at the moment it isn't in my budget... paint is expensive. I am sure once I am finished with school and our house projects become more routine where I am not staying up so late ripping off that one last piece of wall-paper or running to Lowes for the lightbulb/ paint brush/ paint roller/ whatever else comes to mind as soon as my foot steps through that door.... that I will definitely be back to PB. I still love it so much and love my body from doing it but after the wedding prep madness I feel that I needed a little break to get back into a more normal groove.

All good things come in threes
Here we go.... what do you do after you buy a house, get married, and go on an amazing honeymoon all within one month? ... start a blog.... yay
We wanted to start this blog initially to document all the projects and renovations happening to our house. Literally the night we arrived back home after being gone for 3 weeks we started ripping up the carpets. Since we were 12 hours ahead and severely jet lagged... this was not a problem. It has been two weeks and there are NO carpets left in this house. Most wall-paper has been stripped. All "fake" tiles have been removed from the bottom floor and Marc is now working on the infamous pop-corn ceilings.
We are excited with the progress so far. Even though our bed is in the living room and most of our belongings are still in storage and we still don't have any chairs or tables... this is what we love and what memories are made of. I enjoy working beside Marc even if we don't talk for hours. Having our own house is exciting. I have actual concerns now about scuffing our wood floors or what if a tree falls on our house (it stormed super bad today lol). After hours of watching hgtv and researching on how to do this or that... its now coming into play. I can't wait to see what we do with this place. Real life mad men coming into action for this midcentury modern canvas.
My hopes are to fill this blog with updates of our renovation process for ourselves. I want to be able to look back through the posts and laugh. I can only imagine what fails we may experience but what's life without a little risk ;)
